Facebook has two types of pages, Profile, Pages and a subcategory – Groups.

Profile pages are a personal page where you can share information about yourself, interests, etc., and has a limit of 5000 followers.

Pages are for any type of business, organizations, or communities, or brands. You must have a Facebook Profile page before you can open a Business Page. This is easily set up when you first sign up for the Facebook Page and follow the online prompts to walk you through what type of business, nonprofit, community organization. etc., that you are.
With both Profile and Pages, you can share content, graphics, memes, videos, post stories, host events and more. The favorite from Facebook on all their different pages is video.  If you can get into the habit of sharing a video first – it will go a long way to increase your followers.

Everyone who likes your Profile or Page will get your updates in their News Feed. One of the differences between Profile and Pages is the ability to promote and have adverts on Pages.

Groups are places to share your interests with like-minded people. You have to have a Profile page before you can create a group page. Groups can be about any subject or topic, family business, sports, community, etc. You can customize the control settings of who participates, who is able to see the group and control the privacy settings. When people join your group, group content will show up in your newsfeed.
