One of the first things that everyone does when building their Facebook page is to add a photo and a “hero” banner for the top of their page. What does your banner image do for your page?
Are you using the banner real estate space to advertise what you do, or where you want people to go to and learn more about you, or finally make an offer?
Here is our banner from Resource Group Media, it’s designed with a call to action of “click here” they can either literally click the banner and it will open up or they can follow the arrow and click on the Learn More button below the arrow.
When people click on the call-to-action arrow or “Click Here” like all Facebook photos they are taken to a pop-up page of that photo, in this case, our banner which includes a description of Resource Group Media and more importantly a link to the webpage or landing page we want people to look at.
As well as using the banner image to provide a Call To Action for your page, use the CTA button directly below the banner to promote what you want people to do. Every time people load your Facebook page they will always see the banner, your photo, and this CTA button.
Currently, Facebook allows you to choose one of five buttons.
+ Book with you
+ Contact you
+ Learn more about your business
+ Shop with you
+ Download your app or play your game.
Another use of the banner space is to use a custom video promoting your company, products, etc. Facebook recommends using a video size of 820×462. The video length has to be at least 20 to 90 seconds long. Once you have uploaded the video you can reposition the video in the banner space.
