Instagram verification is the little blue check that shows up beside the verified user’s name. Before 2018 the only people who were verified were public or well-known individuals, now you can ask for verification and see if it meets Instagram’s discretionary process. Instagram themselves set the rules as to who is verified.
However, since 2018, there is now a simple process that you can fill in and ask for the exclusive verification check next to your name. Asking for it does not guarantee anything, but at least you can try! To request a verified badge, you must be a public figure, celebrity or brand and meet certain account and eligibility requirements.
Make sure you are logged into the Instagram account that you want to request verification on. Click on your profile page and at the top right-hand corner click on the three parallel bars.
This will take you to the settings page, click on “Account”.
This will open your Account page and scroll down until you see “Request Verification” and click this.
An application for Instagram Verification will open.
Fill in your “username”
Fill in your Full Name
Enter any other names you are known by or your company name
Select a category for your account
Attach a copy of your drive’rs license or a photo id and
Press “send”
If you have filled in everything correctly you will see the “Verification Request Submitted” page.
The waiting period for verification is entirely up to Instagram and can be a day or even weeks. It’s their decision.
There is no limit as to how many followers you have to have to qualify for a verification check-mark, so now you have to wait.
